How to Choose the Right Pattern for Your Fabric Panel


Not all fabric panels are created equal. When selecting a pattern for fabric panels, first consider the dimensions and the scale of the print.

➤For Small Motifs: If your panel features multiple small images, look for patterns that treat those motifs like large quilt blocks, incorporating them into a traditional layout.

Tips for Quilting with Panels


➤Square it Up: Before starting any of our panel quilt projects, always square up your panel. Panels are often printed slightly off-grain, so a little trimming ensures your borders lay flat.


➤Add Borders to Increase Size: If your panel is too small for a bed quilt, use a pattern that incorporates "spacer" blocks or multiple borders to reach your desired dimensions.


➤Mix with Precuts: Many of our patterns are designed to work with 10" squares (layer cakes) or 5" squares (charm packs), allowing you to coordinate the colors in your panel with your favorite fabric collections.
